Structured cabling is the physical foundation of your entire IT environment — and it's one of the most commonly underestimated investments in a business technology stack. Poor cabling means unreliable connections, slower troubleshooting, and expensive rework. TCI's structured cabling solutions are installed to the highest standard so your infrastructure supports your technology now and for the next decade.
Properly installed CAT 6 and CAT 7 cabling delivers consistent, high-speed connectivity that supports VoIP, video, and cloud applications without bottlenecks.
TCI labels every cable at the panel and at the wall plate. When something needs attention, your IT team finds the right cable in seconds — not minutes of tracing wire.
A well-planned cabling infrastructure grows with your business. Adding a workstation, IP camera, or access point is a clean, fast process — not a patch job.
TCI installations meet ANSI/TIA-568 structured cabling standards — ensuring your infrastructure qualifies for manufacturer warranties and passes any compliance audit.
TCI structured cabling and wireless solutions are known for stability, speed, and reliability. Whether you need copper cabling for a single office, fiber optic for a multi-building campus, or line-of-sight wireless where trenching isn't feasible — TCI delivers a turnkey solution from design through documentation.

TCI's CAT 6 and CAT 7 structured copper cabling solutions are always installed professionally to the highest standard. We label all cables at the panel and at the wall plate and provide a layout and patch cable scenario to minimize the nest of wires so often associated with the typical IT closet.
You can rest assured that your TCI cabling solution will be installed cleanly, labeled clearly, and look neat and well organized when it is completed. Every part documented. Every run tested. Every cable accounted for.
When lightning-fast speeds are required or when your data needs to travel distances over 300 Meters, TCI installs fiber optic cable. Fiber eliminates the distance limitations of copper entirely, delivers bandwidth headroom that won't be exhausted for decades, and is completely immune to electromagnetic interference.
Using components from leading manufacturers like Siemens and Corning, we provide reliable connectivity over optical cable. From underground burial to overhead aerial work across buildings, parking lots, and campuses — we handle all of your fiber optic cabling needs from design through fusion splicing, testing, and documentation.

Line of Sight Wireless
Wired connectivity is usually preferred for its stability, speed, and reliability, but there are times when site conditions or access limitations will make a wired connection cost prohibitive. Running conduit across a roadway, a waterway, or through a building you don't own can be expensive or impossible. In cases like this, TCI can design and implement a fully wireless, line-of-sight data connection that delivers wired-quality performance without the infrastructure cost.
These connections are common in campus environments, between buildings separated by parking lots or roads, and wherever infrastructure access is limited. Line-of-sight wireless is affordable and can provide highly reliable connectivity at speeds of up to 10 Gbps of throughput to support critical applications and users.
TCI conducts a free site assessment and provides a detailed scope before any work begins.
Not all cabling installations are equal. TCI's standard of work reflects decades of experience and a commitment to quality that shows on day one and holds up for years. Here's what you get with every TCI cabling project.
Every cable is labeled at the patch panel and at the wall plate with a consistent numbering scheme. No guessing, no tracing, no downtime hunting for the right run.
You receive a complete port map, cable layout diagram, and patch cable scenario when the job is done. Your IT team — or ours — has everything needed to manage the infrastructure going forward.
TCI patch panels are dressed neatly with proper cable management. The difference between a TCI-installed closet and a DIY or low-bid closet is immediately visible.
We test every cable run after installation — verifying continuity, crosstalk, and performance. You don't discover a bad run during business hours when it counts.
TCI follows ANSI/TIA-568 structured cabling standards on every installation — qualifying your infrastructure for manufacturer warranties and compliance requirements.

I have used TCI for Cabling and Alarm installations for our business for over 20 years. They always do a top job and quickly address any issues that rarely occur.
TCI ran some structured cabling for me in my warehouse. Showed up when they said they would and did a great job. Went above and beyond to make sure everything went great. Very satisfied customer here.
TCI is headquartered in Virginia Beach and installs structured cabling systems for businesses and organizations throughout Hampton Roads, Richmond, and across Virginia & North Carolina. Our local team handles every project from initial site walk through installation, testing, and final documentation — no subcontractors, no out-of-state crews.
Whether you're deploying a new cloud VoIP system, installing security cameras, or building out a new office — TCI assesses your cabling infrastructure before any technology goes in. Bad cabling is the most common root cause of technology problems in business environments. We make sure yours isn't one of them.
CAT 6 supports speeds up to 1 Gbps at distances up to 100 meters and is the most common standard for business network cabling today. CAT 7 supports up to 10 Gbps over the same distance with better shielding to reduce interference — making it the right choice for environments with high electrical interference, data centers, or applications requiring higher bandwidth. For most office environments, CAT 6 is sufficient and cost-effective. TCI will recommend the right standard for your specific use case during the site assessment.
Fiber is the right choice when cable runs exceed 300 meters — the maximum reliable distance for copper — or when you need to connect buildings across a campus or parking lot. Fiber is also preferred in environments with high electrical interference (manufacturing, industrial), where security is critical (fiber can't be tapped as easily as copper), or when you need future-proof bandwidth headroom for demanding applications. TCI installs both and recommends the right medium based on your environment and requirements.
Yes. TCI regularly performs cabling work in occupied offices, schools, and facilities — scheduling work after hours, in phases, or around specific operational constraints. We come prepared with the right tools, protection, and cleanup plan so your business stays operational and your space stays professional-looking throughout the project.
A TCI structured cabling installation includes site assessment and design, cable routing and installation, termination at wall plates and patch panels, testing and certification of every run, cable labeling at both ends, a complete port map and documentation package, and IT closet organization and cable management. We don't consider a job done until it's clean, labeled, tested, and documented.
Not necessarily — it depends on what cabling is already in place. Modern cloud VoIP phones use IP and are powered by PoE over CAT 5e, CAT 6, or CAT 7 cabling. If your building already has CAT 5e or better in good condition, it may work fine. TCI assesses your existing cabling during any VoIP deployment and identifies runs that need replacement. In many cases, only partial upgrades or additions are needed. Learn more about cloud VoIP →
